Ruta di Camogli, situated on the stretch of road along the Via Aurelia, between Rapallo Recco, looks like a string of beautiful homes line the hill, without a true center.
The place is important because it is a focal point of the Park of Portofino. From here, in fact, close to the tunnel, starts the only road that goes up to Portofino Vetta, which then can access the trails. Also from here, and just in the vicinity of St. Michael the Archangel Church, opened the footpath to get to Portofino Vetta. And finally, cross Ruta di Camogli for San Rocco di Camogli, another starting point for many itineraries.
The main attractions of Ruta are: the Millennial Church, very popular for weddings, and the scenic walkway that extends up to San Rocco di Camogli from which, in the evening, you can watch the wonderful sunsets over the sea.
Ruta is well connected to San Rocco, Camogli, Recco, Rapallo and Santa Margherita Ligure from a dense network of buses.
By car to get there: from Rapallo with the Via Aurelia (direction Genova), or turn right after the tollbooth, from Recco always with the Via Aurelia (direction La Spezia).
